Sweetheart,
Just got back from seeing “Don’t Fence Me In”, Could be that old age is catching up with me or maybe it’s slap happiness but by golly I enjoyed it. Twas all about Wild Cat Willie who wasn’t dead and buried after all. The music was like a Hit Parade. Don’t Fence Me In, Along The Navajo Trail, Kiss Goodnight, and Tumbling Tumbleweeds - even the Last Round Up. Adda Popular Science and a Leon Errol Comedy and you really get your 15 cents worth. Aside from all of this the picture boosted my morale considerably. Another one of those days. Tch tech, we artists and our temperaments.
We had another meeting with the Colonel this morning. Quote he - We are going to the South of France. You might not be able to have your wives over the first winter, or the first summer, but we’re going to try to arrange for you to have em over by the second summer at the latest. End quote. For Pete’s sake they must be figuring on settling there. I imagine it’ll be at least a two year tour. That’s not for me. No. NO. NO. Makes me shiver to even think about it. Bee Are Are.
Whitey, our tailgunman, just popped in to see if I cared to play cards with them. He saw your picture. Quote the T.G. “ Hey She’s beautiful.” He looked so surprised.
How’s about sending me your pop’s Wonder Lake address so’s I can send them an xmas card when the time comes?
Gonna try and get some flying time in Tuesday. Keep your fingers crossed. You might check the Broniff Airways. I think they might have a plane leaving Chicago for KC at 7:00 pm. That’d probably be either 6 or 8. Takes about two and a half hours.
I spent about six hours fixing the bracelet for my watch. Got it all fixed up and pretty like and it busted in two new places. Like me, it’s just old and worn out. Golly!! Sometimes I feel as old as Humphreys. Heh Heh Heh
My friend, the pot bellied stove, is a very nice guy to have around right now. The breezes are no longer balmy.
Gee I’d like to kiss you right now. You sure were missed today. Doggone it gal, I’m awfully lonesome for you.
How’s everything coming along at home Honey? How’s it all gonna end up? I manage to squeeze in a worry about that once in awhile. Say hello to your Mom and give her my love.
Darling that mood just came back. I’d better sign off.
Good Night Sweetheart
I Love You
Ray
